Like many neighborhoods in Barcelona, before it was annexed to the city in 1897, the neighborhood of Sant Gervasi was an independent municipality. For this reason, the urban fabric consists of narrow and deep plots. Where there are now blocks between party walls, there were once single-family houses with gardens.

The project is located on a plot with these characteristics. For this reason, the central issue is how to provide spatial comfort to the dwellings, taking into account that the plot is deep, narrow, and between party walls.

The ground floor has an opened layout thanks to a passageway that provides access to the block courtyard, enriching and increasing the public space of the city, while integrating spaces of domestic scale such as block courtyards and passageways into the existing street structure.

The housing typology consists of two well-defined rooms: these are the bedrooms, which articulate the rest of the dwelling, in such a way that circulation spaces are eliminated, taking care of the visual relationships between the different areas of the house.
